The One Ring: The Giant Spiders #2 (Wargames Atlantic)

Hello!

Relatively recently I showed painted two small (sic!) spiders - today it's time for a really big one!

Wargames Atlantic has made a very nice set with larger and very large spiders that can be used in fantasy- and SF projects (there are bio-parts and lasers for spiders!).
I decided to add them to my The One Rings project.

The hapless hobbit caught in the net was also included.

  1. Very creepy: in addition to being painted realistically, your giant spider is placed into a base that tells a story: if we had the ring, we could hear it whispering: "This is what happens to those who touch my treasures!". What are the cobweb threads that connect the legs of the spider with the poor hobbit made of?

Spider thread is an ordinary sewing thread :)

  4. Those spiders are great, perfect to play a scenario in The Black Forest, Hogwarts, or wherever... The touch of putting the dwarf caught in the spider's thread and ready to gobble, has been the perfect finishing touch.

    Great job

  10. Great job on the spider. It made me double check if that itch I just had wasn’t a spider crawling on me. 😀

  13. Coincidence would have it that I was just reading the part about Ungoliant in The Silmarillion. All spiders come from Ungoliant do they not?
