Hello!
I invite you to a meeting with late medieval archers today.
It was already the time of a kind of twilight of those shooters who began to give way to firearms.
Nevertheless, for a few decades, they could be found on various theaters of war.
The three painted gentlemen are creations of various Perry Miniatures and Warlord Games sets
I have a lot of bits that I decided to glue into something tangible.
Archers will join my collection of Mercenary troops from the 15th century (The Thirteen Years' War, also called the War of the Cities in 1454–1466).
They can be shooters, but also hunters of the stationed army, hunting game in the nearby forests and meadows.

Bardzo udani strzelcy. Podobają mi się zwłaszcza te gęby pełne charakteru.

Nicely done Michal and I am just reading a book on the battle of Crecy 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Oh, yes.. Golden age of longbow!
DeleteNothing like taking advantage of the leftover pieces, playing which doctor Frankenstein, is one of my favorite parts. The paint job, simple and effective. That incipient beard suits them phenomenally, giving a sensation of disheveledness in the middle of a campaign or raid.
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for a kind words!
Deletebest regards
Great looking archers, Michal. Love the fluted Burgundian helmet.
ReplyDeleteGlad You like it Dean!

Fantastic subdued and subtle colour tones on this trio of longbow men, Michal. Beautiful work as with all the figures you paint!

Kolejne świetne pomalowane modele!
ReplyDeleteDziękuję bardzo :-)
DeleteDobra malarska robota, fajne figurki!
Good to see that not all of the were in the act of shooting, great brushwork as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much sir!
DeleteBest regards
Those faces mate - some of your best!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it!
DeleteThank you so much mate :)
Great work on the facial features on show Michal. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for a kind words!
DeleteWyglądają naprawdę zacnie. Też mam kilku łuczników pomalowanych, choć jeszcze nie są przypisani do jakiejkolwiek wojny z Zakonem (to się w końcu zrobi).
