Warhammer Ancient Battles: Republican Roman Velites

Welcome visitors!

Today, the first day of the new month, so I'm heading to conquer the world with the Roman legions.
It is true that the heroes of today's entry I painted well over a year ago, I decided to slightly improve them and make primarily clearer images. I would also like to post match to the rest of the series.
Figures come from a box of Agema Miniatures.

So welcome!

Velites - in the Roman legion was a Republican infantry lightly armed, leading the action in front of the maniples. These skirmishers.
Velites were the youngest, fastest and least experienced of the soldiers belonging to the legion. This formation came from earlier leves. Their armament consisted of several short javelins (iaculum) with a length of approx. 1.2 m, short swords and round shields (parma), with a diameter of less than 1 m. They used also sometimes light helmets. Often they wore a leather of predators (eg. Wolves), which were to be the source of power.

Witam wszystkich odwiedzających!

Dziś pierwszy dzień nowego miesiąca, dlatego ruszam na podbój świata wraz z rzymskimi legionami.
Co prawda bohaterów dzisiejszego wpisu malowałem grubo ponad rok temu, to postanowiłem nieco ich poprawić i zrobić przede wszystkim wyraźniejsze zdjęcia. Chciałbym też, aby wpis pasował "fluffowo" do pozostałych w serii.
Figurki pochodzą z boxa od Agema Miniatures.

Zapraszam więc!

Welici, velites (łac.veles) – w rzymskim legionie republikańskim była to piechota lekkozbrojna, prowadząca działania przed linią manipułów. Tacy harcownicy.
Velites byli najmłodsi, najruchliwsi i najmniej doświadczeni spośród żołnierzy wchodzących w skład legionu.
