I warmly welcome!
It's time for the third character to come to the French faction for The Silver Bayonet today.
This time to the Grenadiers of Napoleon's Old Guard.
The Old Guard was established by Napoleon by a decree of January 16, 1809 signed in Valladolid. The emperor included the already existing regiments and battalions of the guards: foot grenadiers, foot shooters, horse grenadiers, horse gunners, Polish cavalrymen, mamelukes, gendarmerie, horse artillery, foot artillery, sappers and veterans.
These units were recruited from old, experienced soldiers with at least 10 years of service.
They had numerous privileges, incl. they guarded the emperor, they received higher pay.
It was considered an honor to belong to such formations.

Nie chcę być zrozumiany źle. Figurka pomalowana świetnie, wręcz bajecznie, plusy za brudzenie płaszcza, ale jakoś jej rzeźba do mnie nie przemawia... Gwardzista, to gwardzista, a ten jakoś taki karłowaty typek...
ReplyDeleteLata w służbie cesarza robią swoje hehe :-)
DeleteHe really looks like a grumpy old soldier! Great painted figure Michal!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
