XIII c. Crossbowmen #1 (Footsore Miniatures)

Hello!

The first four crossbowmen from the thirteenth century today!
The models come from the line The Baron's War from Footsore Miniatures & Games.

They fit perfectly on the marksman figures of any western kingdom. They will be interchangeable as crossbowmen to the Kingdom of Poland - actually one of the Duchies from that period in my collection - or as the Teutonic Knights.

As for the knights in white coats with black crosses, I will say that the next four are already painted in Teutonic colors. Mixed together they will also look good.

       I'm probably old-fashioned but I love hand-sculpted miniatures (I think it's Paul Hicks)

  5. Four nice minis, with clothing and armour that makes each one different from the others. The colour choice of the clothes is neutral enough for them to be enlisted into many armies. But did you use white and red to allude to the colours of the Kingdom of Poland?

    1. Red and white color I think would be good for a unit of royal crossbows or some greater prince.
Here I bet on a mix of colors to match different projects :)

  11. The level of paint is at the height of always, impressive. Regarding the miniatures, they are magnificent, every time I enter your blog, I tremble, thinking that I will have to add this time to the shopping cart, for future projects.

I love the position of the crossbowmen, getting out of the usual shots. It reminds me of the old Marauder dwarf crossbowmen and their blister pack of reloading crossbowmen.

Congratulations on the choice of miniatures and another great job.

  13. Paul Hicks does great work, I have his AWI miniatures and I love them. Course, you do a much better job of painting than I do. Really good looking crossbow men! I've window shopped the Footsore website many times. 😀

  14. Bardzo ciekawe wzory Michale. Chyba są trochę smuklejsi od innych średniowiecznych rycerzy od innych producentów?
