Hello friends!
As part of the "revitalization" of my models from the World War II period, I am inviting today (surprisingly not Germany!) to the models of American Pathfinders from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) ("Screaming Eagles") painted many years ago (2016-2017?)
The figures are from Artizan Designs
-------------------------------------------------
"Like everyone else at the airport, he was wearing his paratrooper suit and parachute slung over his right shoulder.
His face painted black with charcoal, head shaved by a crazy fashion that prevailed that night among American paratroopers- of a high crest Iroquois hair style- running from the back to the center shaved skull. "
"Eisenhower stood, watching aircraft pending on runways and slowly kicking up into the air. Planes with Pathfinders, that illuminate the drop zone, had already flown awa..."
"One of the Pathfinders landed with a dull thud about 20 yards from Madame Lavrault. He made could fall and ran to the garden. Madame Lavrault became paralyzed. For a long moment they stood, looking at each other. Paratrooper made a big impression on the old lady. Startled her.
He was tall and thin, his face covered with streaks of paint masking highlighting the cheekbones and nose. the strange apparition put a finger on his lips in a gesture commanding silence, and quickly disappeared... "
"He was one of the first Americans landing in Normandy. It was a quarter after midnight, Tuesday, June 6. The D day..."*

The tone of the uniform and the unit patches are very good, they have been luxurious. I like the touch of "war paint" on some paratroopers to add a splash of color to the unit
