The Thirteen Years' War 1454–1466: Teutonic City Guards unit 2 #2

Hi there!

I've finished the entire second unit (a small one, admittedly!) of Teutonic city guards.

Now, entirely from models by STYRIWAR, who specialize in historical models with an emphasis on the entire medieval period.

The unit includes a cross-section of men-at-arms, plus a richly armed Teutonic dignitary, in clothing and weapons from the second half of the 15th century.

I've given my soldiers a number of Sallet helmets – very popular in German-speaking countries, and must have been in the German Teutonic Order as well.

Maybe only the commander has too rich armor, in a Gothic style, which would be more suitable for +20 years later than The Thirteen Years' War 1454–1466, but we'll overlook that ;-)

What's next?

Crossbowmen, heavy German mercenaries, Czech mercenaries modeled on the Hussites style, Teutonic cavalry...

  3. The armour also looks great Michal. Do you put a black wash over it and then highlight again? Very effective.
