Spartan Peltasts #1 (Mortal Gods)

Hello!

I invite you to see another finished warrior base for my Spartan forces for Mortal Gods.
Today, I'm featuring the light armored Peltasts.

I still have a base of heavy Hoplites and slingers to finish.

And what next?
I'm finishing the Athenian army!

Spartan Peltasts were a specialized, light infantry unit in ancient Greece, named for their small, crescent-shaped shields (pelte), differing from traditional Spartan hoplites by using javelins, longer spears, and lighter armor (linen instead of bronze), making them agile skirmishers excellent at harassing enemies and fighting on varied terrain, notably reformed by Iphicrates to counter heavy hoplite phalanxes.

  4. Splendid work, Michal, and some great group shots too. I do like your pic of how fair your forces have come since initially being worked out too. I keep meaning to do something similar for my Napoleonic project too.

    1. Thank you for the kind words.
Yes, one more base and then a break from Spartans for now.
I'm looking at your individual Napoleonics and I'm slowly getting tempted to painting another warband for The Silver Bayonet :)
