The One Ring: The Witch-king of Angmar

...or Lord of the Nazgûl,  the leader of the Nazgûl (Ringwraiths) and Sauron's deadliest servant during the Second and Third Ages of Middle-earth.

"Do not pursue him! He will not return to these lands. Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man shall he fall." - Glorfindel

Do you enjoy J.R.R. Tolkien's work, my dears?
I've started reading The Lord of the Rings again, and each time I read it, I'm thoroughly enjoying a story 😊

Based on this enthusiasm, I started painting a model (it's not available for sale or as a printable file) that I received from a friend a few years ago.

It's a monumental miniature (circa 32 mm but is a big bad guy) of the Witch King of Angmar, the most powerful of the Ringwraiths.  I tried to make the armor look 'ominous black' with green dark magic flashes. It turned out as it did ;-)

The figure is styled after the artwork of John Howe.

Lovely stuff!

Will be a true pleasure of my LOTR collection.

  2. Jeśli chodzi o czytanie Władcy i towarzyszące temu 'sensacje' to jesteśmy zdecydowanie w tym samym Teamie Michał! Przepiękna figurka i w pełni udało Ci się oddać jej klimat. Zbroja wyszła tak, jak powinna!

  3. Really great job, at first you think he just looks like a black/metal mini. And you look closer and really appreciate the different colours and textures - Malacassa.

  6. Great job on the figures. That is definitely the way to paint black. The chain armour on the horse looks terrific.
